Architect

Architecture

  • I design systems for load: monolith or microservices, chosen by requirements rather than fashion. For each option I weigh the trade-offs and the cost of maintenance.

System integration

  • I connect separate systems into one: REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs, data exchange between services. The integration has to survive the first upgrade.

Cloud architecture

  • I design applications for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and automate infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes.

Security

  • Security is part of the design: encryption, authentication, authorisation, access boundaries. I check how the system behaves under attack, not only how the code reads.

Data

  • I design storage on relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, OracleDB) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch), including data modelling, ETL and warehousing.

Performance

  • I find bottlenecks with load tests, profiling and caching, and keep high-load projects running under load rather than on paper.

DevOps and CI/CD

  • I build pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab CI and GitHub Actions, run containers on Docker and Kubernetes, and keep infrastructure as code in Terraform and Ansible.

AI and machine learning

  • I put models into products with TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn, from training to deployment.

Frontend and backend

  • I build both sides: React, Angular and Svelte on the client, Laravel, Symfony and Node.js on the server, with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Webpack or Gulp/Grunt for the build.
